Instructions:

Prepare the Workspace:

Ensure your workspace is clean and organized. Lay out all ingredients and equipment.

Safety First: Put on safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself from lye. Work in a well-ventilated area.

Make the Lye Solution: Measure 4.34 oz of lye into a heat-resistant container. In another container, measure 9.70 oz of liquid.

Carefully add the lye to the liquid (never the other way around) while stirring gently. The mixture will heat up and produce fumes, so do this step slowly and carefully. Allow it to cool to about 100-110°F.

Melt the Oils:  In a separate heat-resistant bowl, combine all the oils (Raw Shea Butter, Shea Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Avocado Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil).

Heat gently until completely melted, then allow to cool to about 100-110°F.

Combine Lye and Oils: Once both the lye solution and oils are at the desired temperature, slowly pour the lye solution into the oils while stirring continuously.

Blend: Use a stick blender to mix until you reach "trace," which is when the mixture thickens and leaves a trail on the surface.

Add Additives: At trace, add the Bentonite Clay, Turmeric, Honey Powder, and Raw Oats. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.

Pour into Mold: Pour the soap mixture into your mold. Tap gently to remove air bubbles.

Insulate and Cure: Cover the mold with a towel to insulate it and allow the soap to saponify for 24-48 hours.

Unmold and Cut: Once the soap has hardened, carefully remove it from the mold and cut it into bars.

Cure the Soap: Place the bars on a drying rack and allow them to cure for 4-6 weeks. This allows the soap to harden and ensures that the lye has fully saponified.

Notes: Always double-check your measurements and follow safety precautions when working with lye.

You can customize the recipe by adjusting the additives or oils based on your preferences.

Enjoy your handmade soap!
